Service Description

BPPV is a common disorder of the inner ear associated with the sensation of vertigo or dizziness. Within the utricle of the inner ear, there are calcium carbonate crystals (known as otoconia). These crystals may displace from their original location into the semicircular canals of the inner ear. Once the crystals are dislodged, the body’s ability to sense positional changes of the head, along with rotation & linear acceleration will be affected. Thus, creating symptoms of spinning or dizziness. This will cause loss of balance, creating difficulties when attempting activities of daily living (ADLs).
